To add here make sure that you also include a focus on owned platforms in your footprint. While it is great to have a clear strategy for where you show up, you are not in control of Tik Tok, LinkedIn, You Tube, X or any other social platform….relying solely on social media platforms puts you at the mercy of their policies and changes. Having your own platform adds a layer of diversification to your online strategy.

You never know when a platform could take off and become the next big thing for influencers. For example, many influencers who joined TikTok early on gained millions of followers and views in a short time. You don't have to invest a lot of time or resources on new platforms, but you should test the waters and keep an eye on the analytics.

It’s key to keep a pulse on what’s happening, and when you do, be efficient. Block your time so you can be present but not lose hours on end. And look for simple opportunities to take existing content and repackage as you test new platforms. Not all content will be transferable but a lot will be. And seek out your target audience, peers and competitors to see what they are doing and how. Last, have a plan to make a decision on what the potential is for you. It may not be a primary new channel for sales, but may be for visibility and audience building. With a clear channel strategy you can plug in the new ones that make sense for you in a strategic way.

Repurposing content is a great way to pump out content on various platforms and take the benefits of reaching out to different set of audiences. 1 topic can be molded into video (short and long), text, image, carousel, infographic and any other relevant format and then circulated on multiple platforms easily. And one other great way is to pick up the best performing topic from one platform and recreate/reuse it for another.
