In my opinion; you need to update 2 documents to understand the business context: 1) Business dictionary: define all business terms to understand what mean one. 2) Conceptual data model: define the interaction and rules associated with business entities. All multiple stakeholders need to understand the business context to work and collaborate; so if you must update these document to related with more technical documents.

Durante muito tempo os modelos de dados foram utilizados somente para as atividades de modelagem de bancos de dados relacionais. Com a evolução das tecnologias, algumas pessoas passaram a ignorar a modelagem e isso é muito perigoso. Modelos de dados servem para representar pelo menos 2 níveis de abstração: conceitual e físico. O desenho desses modelos por si só, não são suficientes para interpretações claras. Eles devem ser acompanhados de uma documentação adequada, tanto a nível de estruturas (dicionário de dados) quanto a nível de regras de negócio e requisitos de informação (documentos e especificações complementares).
