A positive attitude, an ability to listen to hear (not just respond), can take and follow direction well, and ability to take constructive criticism are a must. Stagehands are essential to our industry, both specialized and not, and by far the easiest and best way to get face time with contacts you want to make, and build your resume. It’s one thing to read or hear about how load ins, shows, and load outs go, and entirely another to actually learn the process as it happens in front of you.
