One way to handle unexpected building code changes is to keep your project schedule flexible with extra time for delays. Build good relationships with local inspectors to learn about possible updates before they happen. You can also create a team that focuses on staying up to date with rules, so changes are made quickly without affecting quality or cost. Clear communication with everyone involved helps avoid confusion and keeps things on track.

Code changes will usually not affect a permitted project in Florida as the plans are permitted per the edition of the SFBC that was in force during the permit process. In my experience working with the inspector on any issues that arise during construction usually move along smoothly and won’t affect the progress of the project.
