There are things that are out of our control, like your phone exploding out of nowhere (been there, done that), but for the most part you are in control of the situation.

From the interviewer’s perspective, I’ve experienced several candidates face technical issues: Internet lagging, camera & shared screen not working, Zoom disconnections. I'm not sure why candidates are so scared to just be open and honest about having tech issues. It actually happened to me a couple of years ago, where I was taking a call on a coffee shop, and in the middle of the interview, a live band started playing, there wasn't really any place nearby where I could sit in silence and for whatever reason I didn't ask for the meeting to be rescheduled. That mistake cost me 10's of thousands.
