A lot of leaders will fall into the trap of "I don't have to explain my decisions to staff", and while you may be technically right from a hierarchical context, that's a lousy attitude if you want people to buy into your vision and plan. Explain the why. Painstakingly. Show how it benefits them, and the organization. Don't just expect people to comply simply because you are in charge. Wield authority like a statesman, not a tyrant, and you will be surprised with how eager people will be to be part of the solution.
