I worked in two service environments where I worked with retail clients. First option you set up a standard turn around time for repairs leaving room in your day for surprise issues that can be fixed quickly like changing a network card. Also, give them alternate options or solutions that can be done faster like using an external port network card as an example. Second environment where I worked indirectly for the customer I deferred to the supervisor when there were conflicts in job assignments. The second case was not very often.

I address impatient clients by managing expectations, communicating clearly about realistic timelines, and prioritizing their issue if possible. Transparency and regular updates often ease their concerns.
