When you work with your client like a trusted business advisor you can have an open conversation with them and let them know about the missing deadlines, while you let them know you can start by saying, I am here to help and open up the issue at hand. Do encourage them to discuss the challenges or roadblocks that they may be facing . Once they share that, offer to support them and let them know that you are assisting them to quickly achieve the desired results. This not only addresses the issue at hand but also makes them trust you.

1. Discuss the missed deadlines openly, exploring underlying challenges or obstacles they might be facing. 2. Collaborate to set realistic, achievable goals with clear timelines, ensuring mutual agreement and understanding. 3. Emphasize accountability by regularly reviewing progress while maintaining a supportive, non-judgmental approach.

Balancing empathy & accountability when clients miss deadlines is key. Here's a strategy: -Set clear expectations & repercussions upfront. -Proactive communication identifies roadblocks early. -Support success with tools & flexible solutions. Here are some additional tips you should consider: - Understand why deadlines are missed (open communication & active listening). - Offer flexible solutions (negotiate new deadlines, prioritize tasks, offer extra support). - Document everything (written agreements, progress tracking). - Remember the human element (empathy, positive reinforcement, focus on solutions). By combining these strategies, you can manage deadlines effectively while maintaining positive client relationships.

The first thing I do when a client is missing deadlines is become curious. What is the root cause? Are they overwhelmed with tasks that may be urgent but not important? Are the deadlines (which they should be setting) false deadlines? Or unimportant to them? Next, I would engage in establishing the cost of these deadlines as it relates to their objectives. Help them reconnect to why they want to get the results they say they want. Digging in deeper shows empathy and drives accountability by getting to the true root of the issue. Something has them stuck, and curiosity from the coach is key to working this out.
