Set specific work hours and stick to them. This means establishing a clear start and end time for your workday. While flexibility is important, having a routine helps maintain boundaries between professional and family time. At work, I focus on identifying the most urgent and important tasks. This helps to avoid feeling overwhelmed and allows me to dedicate energy to high-priority activities. Similarly, I keep my team or manager informed about any family commitments that may affect my availability, so we can plan and adjust expectations as needed. Automation tools for routine work tasks or household duties (like bill payments or meal prepping) help free up time for more important activities.

Preserving family time as well as identifying, organizing and setting apart focused work time are the key priorities. Some of them are, to use an effective means of organizing shared calendars for the beginning of deadlines and own affairs. Ask people to take responsibilities, or bargain for due dates when necessary, to prevent taking up too much time. For example, I decided that my family eats together at 6 pm even if I am still struggling to finish an assignment with a tight deadline, hence both, productivity and well-being. Maintaining these demands facilitates continuous production as well as quality interpersonal relationships.
