Schedule a one-on-one to understand their leadership style, priorities, and expectations while sharing your own insights and goals. Demonstrate reliability by delivering on commitments and keeping them informed about team progress. Show openness to their ideas and feedback, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Encourage team members to engage positively, promoting transparency and alignment. Celebrate quick wins together to build momentum and confidence in the partnership. When I was in this similar position, I would demonstrate the willingness to be a Team player by actively engaging to illustrate organic collegiality. I knew it was not about me but more so the importance of building trust and continuity to ensure confidence in our new team leader. I would also replicate that productive behavior for others to observe, so it would reinforce our appreciation for the bigger picture being to enhance team trust with new leadership and achieving our goals.
