A melhor maneira é criar um ambiente de apoio e suporte emocional. Esse ambiente pode ser na escola ou online. Muitos alunos veem o professor como um porto seguro que podem confiar. Logo, tentaria entender toda a situação e pediria também suporte da coordenação escolar para ajudar esse aluno.

O educador no meu ponto de vista precisa obrigatoriamente desenvolver sua percepção, seja para utilizá-la presencialmente, ou na modalidade on-line. A saúde emocional é fundamental para o processo de aprendizagem, sem contar que em nosso processo educacional a inteligência emocional não é desenvolvida. Tento na medida do possível prestar a atenção no comportamento (gestos, tom de voz, olhar, etc…). Logicamente que enquanto educador devo me preocupar não apenas com a apresentação do conteúdo, como também pelo aproveitamento desse conteúdo (absorção). Caso eu perceba algo “incomum”, tento abordar o (a) aluno (a) naquilo que eu denomino como extra-classe, e me coloco a disposição para ouvir, pois um simples desabafo pode ser de grande valia.

I believe that at this time, the best thing to do is to open up space for students to express their opinions about what is happening to each of them. Check whether this suffering is being caused by the content of the training/class, and whether they consider it necessary to review the content provided so far. Showing partnership and concern for them can help them open up and minimize this emotional suffering.
