If the task is important update at the end of each day. Weekly should be the longest time for an update. 2. Keep a paper trail of what was commissioned by your manager when and what you agreed to do. If you need to support yourself in a 1-1 share this information. 3. Ask for feedback which moves you into collaboration rather than an adversarial position. The goal is to build trust. Once the micromanager knows you are open to feedback they will start to trust you more. Complete these tips and you should see improvements but document the journey just in case!
