Reflection is most definitely very important in every aspect of life. Reflection after cultural engagements can broaden ones perspectives, both spiritually and intellectually. It personally allows me to reflect upon my own understanding of the cultural experiences I have had in my life and then relate it to that of another's cultural experiences. It creates connectiveness and understanding with others and also with my inner self, and it also encourages me to broaden my perspectives and empathy.

Seeking feedback from colleages and from clients is a very big part of knowledge expansion. I find that it helps me grow intellectualy whilst also remaining humble, as there is always something to learn about another's experiences and culture. Each person also experiences their culture through their own perspective and their own truth, therefore it is very important to respect an individual's perspective by seeking their feedback and understanding their personal experiences. This is essential when building rapport and gaining respect, trust and understanding with an individual.

I have often found it quite helpful to ask someone directly about anything that I am uncertain about regarding their cultural practices. People are always happy to talk about their culture and their memories. This can broaden my perspective as well as build rapport with that person. It is an honest way to tell them that you do not have knowledge in this area but are open to understanding and learning about it, as it is important to them. This conveys that you are honest and attentive.
