Collaborative Areas: Designate spaces for teamwork, such as lounge areas and meeting rooms, to foster communication and creativity among employees. Adaptable Layouts: Create multipurpose zones that can be easily reconfigured for different tasks, allowing the workspace to evolve with changing demands.

I would definitely prioritise employee well-being and acoustics in the workspace design, with a special focus on these areas: - Ergonomic design - Natural light and ventilation. - Acoustic well treated environments. Video collaboration should absolutely be a standard in all spaces so anyone can join from everywhere.

These "changing demands" are what's being driven by hybrid work. Four key characteristics that I've seen as being hallmarks of the hybrid office: 1. More ad-hoc collaboration space vs. bookable space. Ad-hoc is lower friction and more efficient. 2. Minimal assigned desks / offices. If someone isn't going to be in the office 5 days a week, RELEASE THE SPACE! 3. Rebalance of collab seating vs. individual seating. As the saying goes, "we used to commute to compute & now we commute to collaborate". That heads down work you can do at home. 4. Workspace variety. Need to tie the spaces to use cases and collaboration isn't just a single use case! It's training, ideation, team building, decision making- those require specific types of space.

Flexibility is the key for every physical space nowadays, not just workspace, but also learn space, maker space… Keep an eyes on every activity that the space houses is essential, and as humans always creating and in movement, the stage for these actions needs to be adaptable, flexible and practical
