Caso não haja uma legislação a ser seguida, porque é um projeto específico de melhoria ou outros pontos, então é necessário que haja o diálogo para entender os pontos de vistas e trabalhar com a seguinte premissa: o que irá impactar menos o meio ambiente e quem são as pessoas também impactadas por tal decisão? Porque quando há divergência, é necessário avaliar o meio ambiente e as pessoas envolvidas, sempre respeito as leis e regulamentações, bem como o futuro das próximas gerações.

To find common ground on biodiversity conservation, I believe the key is to start by aligning on shared project goals, such as long-term success or regulatory compliance. Encourage an open dialogue to understand each colleague’s perspective and concerns, whether it's cost, practicality, or priorities. Frame biodiversity conservation as a way to enhance project value, reduce risks, and meet stakeholder expectations. In my experience, focusing on common benefits helps ease resistance. Collaborate on solutions that balance ecological preservation with operational needs, ensuring everyone feels heard and invested in the outcomes, fostering a collaborative path forward.

It would be helpful if you take interest in other's activities and make your own activities interesting for others. When both parties start showing interest and take one step back, common ground starts developing.

If you are following an external certification or biodiversity report get some input from an expert. It is always possible you are both right or indeed both wrong. Assess the damage and risk of doing it one way compared to the other. Whatever the case, try and work with your partner to find the best way forward. Keep ego at the door and put the biodiversity protection first (That's what really matters after all)

I will ask the team to consult with the UN's Biodiversity Convention, which almost all the countries of the World are signees of. This convention should serve as a platform for any work in this field and represent the common ground to ensure the project's success.
