Ultimately, if one party is strong-arming the other for no good or genuine reason, I would consider this a major red flag. In order to properly navigate a power imbalance, bring it back to core metrics, KPIs and the end-result of client value. Make the case for power balance undeniable with objective truths. Everything else is a waste of time. So, clearly lay out the objectives of the partnership and command the power you deserve. Otherwise, you aren't commanding it.
