As a firm believer of culture-centered approach, I believe in centering the voices of the marginalized. Marginalization and dominance is the bane of our society today. Dialogue and participation are important and it should be encouraged at all times. It is fair to give equal opportunity and platform for everyone to be heard and involved. Power distance should be relegated during such dialogue to prevent fear and intimidation. Power dynamics has been used to oppress people especially in developing countries. During community events, it is important to create a conducive environment for everyone to participate. Moderating events is the best way to cut down on dominance and monopolization.
