I’ll foster trust by communicating openly about the reasons for outsourcing changes and addressing any concerns the team may have. Involving them in the transition process, showing how their roles contribute to the new setup, and providing support or training where needed will help ease uncertainties. Regular check-ins and recognizing their efforts will reinforce our commitment to their growth and the team’s success through this change.

Open communication is here key as well. Outsourcing can be, if done correctly, a chance for growth and further development of the internal IT team. I used it as a chance in the past to integrate an MSP for some topics we lacked knowledge, or was not able to hire a full-time employee and the rest of my team was able to concentrate on the agreed and communicated topics. Not all outsourcing needs to have a bad taste, if you choose and communicate wisely. Even with further growth we we're able to get topics and task back into the internal team and reduce the outsourced task to a minimum. It's all depending on the situation you're facing and how to overcome.

Fostering trust during IT outsourcing changes starts with open communication. I keep the team informed about the reasons for the transition and how it aligns with our goals. I involve them in the process, gathering input and addressing concerns. Clear roles and expectations help minimize uncertainty. I also highlight opportunities for growth and development, ensuring the team feels valued throughout the change. By leading with transparency, empathy, and collaboration, we build trust and maintain momentum during the transition.

IT outsourcing will continue to evolve as technology advances and businesses become more reliant on digital systems, so it is very important to foster trust during the transition. Firstly, there should be complete and open communication with the internal employees to guarantee them of their jobs and also to encourage them to upskill in order to keep up with the evolving digital era we are operating in. Secondly, there is need to clarify the importance of outsourcing your IT infrastructure, for example, you will be able to reduce your costs and improve your efficiency, and also it can free up the in-house team to focus on what they do best rather than on less-essential tasks. It can also reduce the cost of training new employees.
