Having different opinions from different stakeholders is a common issue leaders need to face. The interests of different stakeholders are not the same and therefore this should be expected. As a leader who navigate through this issue need recognize this and create an open dialog to iron out the difference in opinion. One must explain the stakeholders why your approach in a given situation should be accepted in a logical manner. Put all opinions with facts & data behind each stakeholder opinion in one analysis showcasing your opinion and course of action showing why your approach is the best. This type of open and transparent ( date driven ) approaches help. Also your ability to align more stakeholders towards your opinion helps to win yours

First and foremost, ascertain the objectives and desired outcomes of each stakeholder. Try to establish common grounds (such as any shared goals) Next will have to define the problems/ conflict and try to negotiate ground rules for mutual respect and active listening; so that we can generate opinions/ options collectively and come up with agreeable, mutually beneficial solutions Always focus on desired outcomes to reach win-win consensus. Crucial to document agreements and actions plans. Follow up with progress to keep all in the loop

My goal was to bridge the gap and align everyone on a clear path forward. I organized a roundtable discussion, where each stakeholder could voice their concerns and ideas. This can be a tricky situation but one can navigate easily by - Gathering information: Reasons, Data and Context for the differing POVs - Finding common ground: Is there an option that makes sense incorporating the conflicting POVs? - Analysing what overlaps the most with the problem at hand: Weigh risks, effort and trade offs. And remember when you are trying to get alignment: Start with your opinion ("I've analysed this, and XYZ is a good direction to go because <present analysis> however I would like it if the group aligns on this for faster resolution". It sets the direction for the conversation and allows a faster resolution.
