"Unity thrives on connection." Leading a diverse, distributed team requires intentional strategies to drive collaboration. Here's what worked for me: Know Their Strengths: I took time to understand each team member's skills and cultural background, tailoring tasks to their strengths. Shared Goals: We set clear, shared objectives that aligned individual efforts towards a common purpose. Regular Touchpoints: Weekly check-ins both group and one on one helped maintain alignment and trust. Celebrate Wins: Recognizing accomplishments, no matter how small, empowered team morale and unity.

This is my current situation as a Dean in a large school district. Teachers across three locations fall under my school of study, and I look for ways to connect and engage with them all. Holding Teams or Zoom meetings, rather than requiring everyone's physical presence has been tremendously helpful. I have had a much greater attendance at team and Advisory Board meetings by utilizing the virtual approach, and encouraging input from all attendees during those meetings.
