Leading a remote team feels a bit like herding cats... from another country. To keep spirits high, I lean on regular check-ins and encourage the team to bring their personalities to the screen—yes, pets, coffee mugs, and all. We hold “win-of-the-week” sessions to celebrate even small victories, reminding everyone that progress is progress, no matter where it happens. As Teddy Roosevelt once said, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”—and we’re all over the map! A little humor, transparency, and an occasional virtual coffee go a long way to keeping us connected and motivated.

I always try to communicate with team members as much as possible in order to understand them better, as well as reveal underlying issues inside them. Besides that, I usually host meeting in an open environment way to encourage ideas and feedbacks from team members.
