Design is a creative thinking process and when we talk about hierarchies of roles in any organization, it doesn't matter a lot in case of brainstorming but what matters is the creativity that hits a particular mind. That's the reason we need to collaborate each and everyone's ideas and hype them to think more creative in a relaxed and positive work environment. When it doesn't hit your mind, hit the coffee break and think again 😉

When leading a collaborative design project, I follow this structured and inclusive process: 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: I begin by giving everyone dedicated time to document their thoughts independently. This ensures all perspectives are captured without group influence. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬: Team members then share their ideas with the group, allowing diverse viewpoints to surface and fostering mutual understanding. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫: Using a structured framework agreed upon by the team, we collectively evaluate and prioritize ideas based on factors such as feasibility, impact, and alignment with user needs. This process ensures every voice is heard and valued.

I emphasize psychological safety to see that every voice is heard in a collaborative design project. I create it by establishing the norm that every idea counts, modeling to the group what active listening is all about, and thanking members for their contributions. During another project, I provided anonymous idea submissions because my observations led me to notice quiet members withholding contributions. I emphasize strengths, giving roles based on skills and talents – and increasing levels of engagement. Round-robin discussions have everyone saying something, and all projects are followed up on. Through trust, creativity is created, and everyone feels valued.

In collaborative design projects, I make sure everyone feels heard and valued by rotating facilitation roles, which empowers all team members and gives everyone a chance to lead. I also use anonymous feedback tools to gather honest input from everyone, especially those who might be quieter in group settings. Plus, I actively highlight diverse perspectives, because different viewpoints enrich our creativity and lead to better solutions. This inclusive approach helps us collaborate effectively and innovate together. #TeamCollaboration #InclusiveDesign #Leadership #EffectiveCommunication #CreativeProcess #Innovation #TeamDiversity #ProfessionalGrowth #LinkedInInsights

To make sure every voice is heard and valued, you’ve got to create a space where everyone feels comfy sharing their ideas—like a cozy coffee shop but without the overpriced lattes! ☕️💸 Encourage open chats, sprinkle in some fun icebreakers, and maybe even have a “no idea is too weird” policy—because sometimes the quirkiest thoughts lead to the best designs! Just remember, a good team is like a pizza: it’s all about the right toppings working together! 🍕🤝✨
