I suddenly found that I am about to retire in 6 years. That is a long time, but I am already being referred to as an 'old hand'. I felt offended because I am contributing more than others. I decided to take a look at what I am doing. I am doing more of planning part and helping others to execute rapidly. Although I would have loved more speed, still, I think that other colleagues can not move in a better speed. I can keep them on track though, with my efforts. and that I think is my purpose

Start by pausing and grounding yourself—take a few deep breaths to calm your mind and centre your thoughts. Shift your focus from resisting the change to understanding it. Ask yourself: What opportunities could this bring? Break challenges into smaller, manageable tasks and tackle them one at a time. Stay present and avoid spiraling into worst-case scenarios by focusing on what you can control. Communicate openly with your team or manager, expressing concerns while remaining solution-oriented. Remember, adaptability is a strength, and approaching change with a calm, mindful mindset not only helps you stay composed but also positions you as a resilient and resourceful leader.

Change. It’s messy, uncomfortable, and often arrives uninvited. So how do you navigate this storm? With intention. With mindfulness. With grace. 1️⃣ Pause before reacting: Knee-jerk responses can magnify chaos. 2️⃣ Focus on what’s within your control: Change can make everything feel out of reach. 3️⃣ Reframe the narrative: Is this change a setback, or is it redirecting you to something better? 4️⃣ Ask for help: Tap into your network. Share your struggle. Collaboration is your greatest ally. Here’s the kicker: change is rarely easy, but it is where the magic happens. Growth lives in the discomfort. Opportunity hides in the chaos.

The most effective way to navigate unexpected change at work or in life is to train the skill of keeping your focus 🎯 on what you can control. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 as Navy SEALs would say. And it doesn't even have to be work-related to work!🤯 All it means is for you to shift your focus in the moment of panic and anxiety to something that's totally controllable by you - it can even be cooking🍳 a meal or keeping your sleep and exercise routine. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬: your 🧠brain "anxiety center", the amygdala, is triggered by anything unexpected. And it calmed by anything familiar and routine. Calm down first. And then deal with the thing in a different, more productive state of mind.
