Something I found helpful is to validate the data and filter for the assumptions you believe to be most correct. Presenting three simple points to the audience will be most impactful in presenting your overall narrative. Of course, this involves several other steps in order to simplify and effectively communicate your data to the audience. A tactic I have found helpful is to group data into categories. When presented with limited data more assumptions will be required. At times it might be helpful to present your assumptions and project data based off of data analysis techniques. I believe filtering for assumptions and starting with the end in mind are some of the Key principles that help me visualize the stories that data has to tell.
