When a business moved into the next level of size, it is important to find tools that will work for a company that size. Therefore, have each person (or group) review possible choices so that the tools chosen are useful for everyone. Engage them during installation and training as well as work with IT to have a seamless integration of old data into the new system. Finally, take the opportunity to purge old data that does not need to be moved over to the new tool.

Absolutely key to the introduction of new technology systems is the Planning phase, which should cover every detail. The old adage applies here as much as in any forward thinking application: "if you don't plan, then you plan to fail". Also key to the planning is the inclusion of all staff in the the building of the plan so that the critical factor of "ownership" of the plan is strongly present. When introducing anything new to a business or venture the most important thing, in the plan, is the the training of the people who will champion the new systems and in so doing the new knowledge will be assimilated throughout the business.
