Boy, I can relate to this one! Feeling overwhelmed is not my favorite feeling. Thankfully, I’ve learned a secret to maintaining “harmony” rather than balance. And it starts with setting boundaries and non-negotiables. I start my day with meditation and a 30-minute walk. This helps me prep my mind and body to handle the demands of the day. Then, I block out time on my calendar for specific tasks. And I’ve learned to say “not now” instead of a flat-out “no” because it doesn’t cut off someone’s request entirely, and still protects your sanity. Also, keep distractions at bay – like silence your phone and limit social media time. Your future self will thank you for it. Remember, going full speed 24/7 makes you less productive in the long run.

Afin de ne pas se noyer dans le travail et ruiner sa santé, il est primordial de rechercher un équilibre et de se fixer des limites. En effet, fixer les limites que vous ne pouvez pas dépasser. Ces limites seront votre repère principal afin de ne pas vous sentir submergé. Pour ne pas etre submergé, pensez également à créer des to do list, des planning concrets et raisonnables. L'organisation est votre meilleur allié anti débordement. Pensez aussi à des astuces comme des technique de gestion du stress qui vous permettrons de souffler et de vous reconcenter sans avoir à exploser.

You can only do what is humanly possible and to do this, you will need to prioritise what needs attention and to queue those items. I would also suggest that you review your tasks, consider a timeframe for completion of each task and stick to this timeframe as best as you can. Where your colleagues and manager(s) are demanding work from you, just be upfront with them about the reality of your workload and that, while you have prioritised some items for your immediate attention, other items will have to wait and they may require some leniency for a later submission. Ensure that you also make time for rest and recreation even while working on the immediate tasks so that you remain committed and focused with completing the task.
