To help relieve the stress when you are drowning in project deadlines follow these steps to help you handle stress, meet deadlines, and maintain your well-being. 1. Start with 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 to create calm, boost focus, and increase oxygen to your brain. 2. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 by urgency to tackle what’s most important first. 3. 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 to stay focused, reduce stress, and avoid distractions. 4. 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀, like quick walks or meal times, to stay energized and clear-headed. 5. I check in with my thoughts to see what's driving my overwhelm. That usually lets me know what I need to remain at high capacity to address the task at hand. Do I think I need to overwork because of a particular fear—if that's the case, how valid is that? Do I need to take a break to get more information to quiet that thought and work more realistically, etc.? Our thoughts are powerful drivers, and we have to know how to mindfully engage and reset. This is my best self care approach during high stake times.

Eisenhower’s Matrix is a powerful tool for this: 1️⃣ Urgent & Important: Focus here first—break tasks into manageable steps. 2️⃣ Important but Not Urgent: Schedule self-care like exercise or mindfulness—crucial for well-being. 3️⃣ Urgent but Not Important: Delegate to lighten your load. 4️⃣ Not Urgent, Not Important: Eliminate distractions like excessive scrolling. Prioritising effectively helps reduce stress and make space for what truly matters.

Besides the recommended tactics, I personally find that it is critical to recharge with activities outside of work during these stressful periods. * Remind yourself of what and who is most important in your life so you can keep a more holistic perspective. * Rejuvenate with healthy meals, sleep, time outside, exercise. * Disconnect when the work day or work week is done so you can rest and recover. * Enjoying time with loved ones and favorite pastimes helps maintain your mental health. As an introvert, quiet solitude and a brain candy novel were often part of my stress management plan. Choose tactics based on what energizes you the most and gives you the most peace. This will help relieve stress and avoid burnout.

If you're drowning in project deadlines, it sounds like the expectations that have been set are not realistic for your capacity. Explore what things are really an urgent priority and what things can be postponed if possible. In addition, getting some other people to work with you on the deadlines could really save you. Adding some extra energy and good vibes can really revitalise the whole situation. In addition, try cleaning up your office space, drinking some water and getting some fresh air before going back to your tasks. Hope this helps

All these self care methods are great and very useful, however, stress management is a skill that is aquired throgh repetition and minfdul practices in your life. I have seen my clients benefit from regular strenght training with added breathwork to help better manage stress and create a sustainable work-life balance.
