Balancing time zones and working remotely sure go hand in hand. Let me share from my personal experience with my first international client. It didn't occur to me immediately that we were in different time zones. There I was at my work station, at noon, having a chat with her. I even started the conversation with a "Good afternoon" unaware that she was 6 hours behind me—that is early morning at her end. I continued chatting oblivious of the time difference. Not until she spoke up: "I need to go get my morning coffee" she said. "Do you know Geography?!" That's when the reality hit me. After that, I made sure to get very familiar with the GMTs and their countries, even channeled my greetings to fit in with hers and every clients' after.
