I have always been an organic-first digital marketer. There are so many reasons why the power of a fine-tuned organic strategy is the bedrock of a plan. So the very premise of this question is flawed in my opinion. Too many businesses spend on paid media, basically as a crutch or perhaps they lack the skillset to devise a high-performing organic strategy. Either way, focus on organic first and get that humming with full power. If you wish to go paid after that, you will be that much further ahead of most businesses who jump straight to paid.
