In this kind of scenario it’s imperative to make the team aligned and motivated in all possible way … I would have tried following- 1. Making the team aware about the bigger picture and created a vision to follow.. 2. Make the team aware about the rewards and consequences for this goal so that engagement can happen with their buying. 3 Create a smart mile stone for the entire journey..here smart means Simple ,measurable,attainable,realistic and Tangible. 4. Celebrate each milestone and recognise the important contributor in each step. 5. Be there as a support in each step and create an open atmosphere..so that the idea flow can happen to attain the bigger goal. Make the journey challenging yet exciting…

Also, I would have mini team-building activities to keep the energies fresh and creativity optimized amongst team members. The goal is to be consistent, authentic and motivational for maximum project outcomes.

Open and honest communication starts at the top. 1) What’s going well? 2) What’s not going well? Appoint a scribe, 2 sides of the whiteboard-record answers. Ask the team why we are working on this project? Encourage every team member to speak. Limit the people who talk too long and call on the people who seldom talk. Finish with some action items. Schedule accountability.
