In my experience, understanding why they have self-doubt is important - is it personal or professional, is it a situation or a cause or event or even a past trauma that is impacting the current performance etc. Few pointers: 1. recognize and acknowledge all the great work they have done and build confidence and trust through open communication 2. encourage a growth mindset, if they are worried about their mistakes or are insecure or feel threatened, let them know you are there to support. Mistakes are normal and an opportunity to learn from them. 3. encourage self reflection, work on self-development plans and promote resilience. 4. most importantly, show empathy, be available and hear them out and be non-judgemental.
