Je commence par reconnaître l’impact du revers sans minimiser les efforts fournis. Ensuite, j’organise un moment de réflexion en équipe pour analyser objectivement les causes et identifier les leçons à en tirer. From my experience, facing a major setback in a project can be very frustrating for everyone and for a team. Hence, in a first step, acknowledging the emotional impact is very sincere and healthy. Especially when people worked very hard, a setback is very disappointing. Then, in professional context, next step should be to analyze the situation. Figure out what went wrong, when and why. What could we have been doing better? What is the learning opportunity? Maybe there is even a chance to "repair" the project, or try again? Dealing with setbacks together as one team in a structured process and overcoming it for an even better result, will make the team even stronger.

Typically on a project it can feel like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. The problem is that we tend to focus 100% on the step back, never on the fact that we actually took a step forward. Celebrate the small wins, they add up. Learn from the setbacks. Reset - engage - go forward!
