Balancing Perspectives on Usability Issue Severity - Hold Structured Discussions: Facilitate meetings for each member to present data-backed viewpoints. - Use Voting Systems: Implement weighted voting to prioritize issues through team consensus. - Create a Severity Matrix: Establish clear criteria for assessing severity, ensuring objectivity in evaluations. Aligning the team on usability issue severity requires structured input and clear criteria, making the decision process inclusive and data-driven. What methods do you find helpful for team alignment?

Some steps that I would follow to consider solving this issue is by: 1. Actively listening to everyone's perspective. 2. Quick presentation of the concerned designed interactions, going back to user journey map related to specific user flows. 3. Pointing out the concerned user interactions in the user journey and tying them to the usability issue(s) being discussed. 4. Now, let the team vote on the issues after looking at the user needs and pain points from the user journey map. Need to explain the user journey map for better collaboration.

When my team is divided on the severity of a usability issue, I ensure everyone’s perspective is considered by fostering an open and collaborative discussion. I encourage each team member to share their reasoning, whether it's based on user feedback, technical constraints, or design principles. I then bring in data—like user testing results, analytics, and any relevant case studies—to ground the conversation in real-world evidence. By prioritising user-centred outcomes and aligning the team on shared goals, we can evaluate the issue from all angles, ensuring the final decision is well-rounded and reflects a balanced perspective.
