(edited)The first step is to define the rules of engagement by way of a charter; with clear roles and responsibilities to reduce any misunderstanding, use non-prescriptive approach, shared and collective understanding with full input from the team - process should be transparent and fair, to build trust and promote team cohesion. Show empathy, understanding of any challenges, once the process is not abused (clearly define what an abused process looks like). Use collaboration tools by leveraging easy to use platforms (MS Team, Asana, Trello); centralize resources, ensure everyone has access and streamline processes to avoid duplication. Consider time differences and cultural dynamics. Lead by example, provide training, monitor adapt and improve.
