Absolutely agree that events and good communication efforts (including a look-up intranet site, a social media community and a sign-up sheet to become an ambassador) are key. However do not underestimate finding a leadership ambassador for your cause. You need someone to be the face and voice next to you. Multiple even. You want the organization to rally as a whole? Then you need the leaders that set their goals and future of the departments/business behind you.
