Probably quite a common scenario. Here is what I tend to do : 1. Maintain a structure - cold call - partner discovery meeting (objective setting) - agreement signing - next step plans (enablement, cadence etc.) 2. If this still happens - Reach out proactively to setup a call. 3. Set clear expectations 4. Identify the gaps and offer support to the partner accordingly (training or resource) 5. Schedule regular face time - be it in-person or virtual. Checking in regularly always helps. 6. Final step if nothing works - escalate. Note - Know this that there are plethora of partners and if there is a responsiveness problem from the get, it might persist later so best to find a new partner.

It’s easy to write what you should have done to prevent this from happening but the truth is that many partners sign up and then go cold. Why? Before you chase after them, reverse what happened with them until now. How, when and why did they apply to be a partner? How well did you vet them and what was your reasoning for accepting their application? What were their hopes from this and what’s the PAIN this partnership will potentially solve for them? Then check the WHO as well? The closer you can contact to a decision maker in their org the better. If this is happening alot and you’re not sure why or what to do, PM.
