It sounds like I need to lead my client through reality testing :) Which is a great coaching inquiry for any ambitious manager! Here are a couple of exercises: - "Reverse Planning": work backward from the end goal, then detail each small step and estimate realistic timelines. - "Pre-Mortem" analysis: "ok, let's imagine we have failed. What when wrong? And how can we navigate it?" - "Assumptions Challenge": prompt them to question the assumptions which drive their high expectations. Lead with questions like: "Is this estimate based on your previous experience, or is it an assumption that this might work this way?" - Encourage a "What-If" analysis to explore alternative scenarios and develop a flexible mindset of your client.

This will help prioritise the critical areas for the client but keep the quality of the coaching intact.

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I'm possible! a great quote and something I like to remind clients. Mostly we hold ourselves back from achieving goals saying 'its impossible' 'i cant do it' My job as a coach is to to help my clients to achieve their dreams through gaining clarity on what and why they want to achieve what they want, then figuring out the how. The how could include learning, support, feedback, help from others, it might take time and patience. If I had listened to a previous manager who repeatedly told me I did not have potential, I wouldn't be where I am now which is exactly that.. a level 5 senior leader overseeing three functions and managing a team of professionals. I also coach others and run my business.
