This is because there may be alternative options to meeting their needs. From there we can determine the 'how', how do we meet their needs and exceed their expectations? Once we figure that out, we can decide on the 'what', what can be leveraged to accomplish the objectives? What can be offered to exceed the expectations? Clear communication is key throughout the entire engagement process, as things may change along the way.

There is always a trade-off between detail and capacity. It's no good having the most detailed data if you can't use it because it's too heavy. To avoid this, it is necessary to clarify the objectives with the customer. We need to discuss and find the most efficient compromise between detailed data, accessibility and machine capacity. Most customers always want the "most", the most detailed, the most up-to-date, the most data available. Our job as professionals is to explain why sometimes the most is not good.
