Peer coaching has great benefits! When I started out as a Core Network engineer, my colleagues and I picked topics on different CS Core Network equipment and we took turns each week to train the group. The relaxed environment allowed for easy understanding of the engineering concepts and establishing competence in product knowledge. This approach also sharpened our presentation skills, thinking skills (as some uncanny individuals would ask difficult questions just to rattle the presenter) and made us gain more confidence in our craft - a skill that comes in handy when we face customers. This approach to learning is also competitive and forces the participants to give off their best.
