In my experience, as much as monetary compensation is important, so are other forms like- PTOs- A lot of Bay Area companies have a policy of unlimited time off. While this must be taken with a grain of salt, I never had issues in getting my PTO approved.. in a nutshell if you are doing your job and know your rules and responsibilities as well. You won’t have any issues with PTO. Remote/ Hybrid policies- I have come to the conclusion that fully remote with optional work from the office policy works best for both employer as well as employees. It’s so non-fact that fully remote policy as actually help in improving not only work life balance, but also productivity of the employees.

I have worked on some of the most difficult cases. How I get a fix is through looking at your team in front of you. Ask for suggestions. Use your experiences to learn and think. As a Network engineer in my past, its learning from those more experienced than you. Also trying to think what has worked in the past. Will it work in this situation.
