Thought this was a good prompt to share an anecdote I'll never forget... A few years back I made a visit to a Cisco customer who was building out a "conference room of the future" with the support of the Cisco account team. When I walked in and saw the space - it was AWESOME. As I'm wide-eyed staring at this futuristic tech space, the account manager turns to me and goes, "Chris, guess what's the most expensive thing in this room?" I wasn't sure so I pointed to the digital whiteboard. He shakes his head, "No...it's the table." THE CONFERENCE ROOM TABLE!!! It was more expensive than the actual tech. That was eye-opening & made me realize business furniture isn't cheap - and that's because it's (typically) commercial grade & high quality!

Balancing durability and style in our workspace is essential for both functionality and employee satisfaction. with the changing dynamics of business landscape plug and play concepts are very popular .We prioritize high-quality materials that withstand wear and adaptability with space while complementing our aesthetic. For example, we chose stylish, durable furniture made from sustainable materials and incorporated vibrant colors that reflect our brand. Additionally, we invested in resilient flooring and wall finishes that are easy to maintain. By involving employees in the design process, we ensure the space is not only visually appealing but also practical and comfortable, ultimately fostering a positive and productive work environment.

In one instance, we selected modular furniture pieces that not only looked sleek but were durable enough to withstand daily wear-and-tear. These pieces could also be reconfigured to suit different needs, blending functionality with aesthetics. For example, we opted for high-quality, stain-resistant textiles that were both practical and stylish, offering a professional look without compromising on durability. Another creative solution was using acoustic wall panels in brand colors, which enhanced sound control while adding a visual pop to the space. Choose dual-purpose elements like stylish storage units or decorative partitions that also serve functional roles, ensuring the space remains both practical and visually appealing.

Your workspace needs to be conducive to you as a person. Although elegance and style are important, the furniture and decorations in your workspace need to be an outward expression of you. The more comfortable you are in your workspace, the more productive you will be. Style is great, but it must be your style. Far too often, people get caught up with having the newest or nicest things in their workspace but fail to realize that it is detrimental to how they function. I believe comfort and functionality should be superior to elegance and aesthetics. Choose the things that work best for you and do not let anyone else influence your decisions. Do not worry about what the world thinks. Your happiness is the most important aspect.
