Communication is a vital backbone be it online or offline. It's just not a medium but also a necessity to make sure that not just the skills but communication skills are equally given the same importance. Sometimes we think marketing yourself is communication but it's given a critical scenario where what you communicate to sound authentic and confident is basically what everyone needs. So, I believe if you are not able to get the deadline met, then first of all, set realistic expectations, set realistic goals, set 2 way communication clearly and understand that if the team member misses the deadline then is it a real cause and the reason is external or the deadline was not communicated properly which then got into the last moment hurdle.
