Make sure you have hired enough people to *fully* service the customer, without rushing t hem off the phone or closing an issue before they say it is closed. During periodic lulls in demand, fill in the time with special projects for individuals or small groups, that exercise and expand their knowledge of the products, perhaps with edge cases (integration with other products, for example). I would like to put two classification to make smooth technical support. 1. Technical knowledge We must have enough knowledge about the machine before we are going to discuss it with our customers. If the customer feels that we don't have enough knowledge about their machine they will no more trust in us and they try to find another way or person to get support. 2. Psychological understanding We have to be patient to listen and understand our customer ideas. However the cause of the problem is due to customer misuse, try to understand slowly the root cause without finger pointing.
