Different stakeholders and partners may have different interests and expectations when it comes to your cash flow budget. For example, investors and lenders may want to see how you will generate enough cash to repay them, while suppliers and customers may want to know how you will meet your payment terms and delivery deadlines. Therefore, you need to tailor your cash flow budget presentation to suit your audience, highlighting the relevant information and addressing their concerns.

Ideally you would like your cash flow budget to be as consistent as possible regardless of who it is prepared for, however this is not always realistic. Ensuring the cash flow budget clearly laysout what the user wants to know is essential. For example, for a potential lender you want to show how the loan you are applying for can be repaid with what you set out in your budget.
Demonstrating multiple scenarios can give a good insight as well for various users of the cash flow statement.

Honesty wins the day. Through tough times and easy times, communication is critical. Create your cashflow plan, then tailor the PRESENTATION of the material for each party.
Employees - show the team that they can each create efficiency and as a unit, success will follow.
Lenders - reflect on your historical successes, and if short-term is tough, extend the range to reflect that you (closest to the business) can see a better day and add how you intend to work through any challenges. They understand risk/reward, so show them you are the best investment for their dollars.
Investors - cashflow is one part of the investor bucket. Forecast where the investment value resides, not just cash.
LASTLY - know it is all about communication!

Explaining cash flow is the right to communicate with nonfinancial people, now it depends how you explain to them. Cash flow can be easily categorised in operations, financial, investing & tax payments. It's pertinent to mention here to communicate each activity in presence of the relevant HOD that would be the perfect way to communicate to the right person in the right manner. For example the operation head would be communicated in each area of his department categorically like, inventory, receivables and payable alongwith comparison of relevant period it will show their performance in terms of cash which is the back bone of every business. Moreover, it should be elaborated and find the reason for decreasing or increasing in cash flows.

Cuando el mensaje no se entiende bien, las partes interesadas podrían resistirse a implementar ajustes o cambios sugeridos en la gestión del flujo de efectivo, ya que no comprenderían claramente la justificación o los beneficios de dichos cambios.
Your cash flow budget should convey the key messages you want your stakeholders and partners to take away from your presentation. For example, you may want to show them how you will achieve your cash flow goals, how you will overcome your cash flow challenges, and how you will improve your cash flow performance. You should also highlight the risks and opportunities that may affect your cash flow, and how you will mitigate or leverage them. You should also provide recommendations and action plans for improving your cash flow management.

In my experience the length of a cash flow presentation must be balanced between being so long that both stakeholders and partners ignore it and so brief that ignores key details

In my experience it is essential to communicate 2 things when presenting a cash flow:
1 - the basis on which it is prepared and any key assumptions used.
2 - a set of scenarios based on key assumptions or drivers changing and the estimated likelihood of this happening.
This gives context to the figures you are communicating and the story they tell.

Your cash flow budget is not a one-way communication, but a dialogue with your stakeholders and partners. You should invite feedback and questions from your audience, and listen to their opinions and suggestions. You should also address any doubts or objections they may have, and provide evidence or examples to support your cash flow budget. You should also thank them for their input and involvement, and follow up with them on any outstanding issues or updates.

Your cash flow budget is not a static document, but a dynamic tool that needs to be reviewed and revised regularly. You should monitor your actual cash flow against your budget, and identify any variances or discrepancies. You should also analyze the causes and effects of these variances, and adjust your cash flow budget accordingly. You should also report your cash flow results and changes to your stakeholders and partners, and explain the reasons and implications of these changes.

When communicating your cash flow budget, also consider the power of storytelling. Beyond the numbers and forecasts, share the narrative behind your cash flow projections. This could involve discussing strategic decisions, market conditions, or operational changes that impact your cash flow. Storytelling can make the data more relatable and memorable, helping stakeholders understand the context and rationale behind your financial planning. Additionally, leverage technology to enhance your presentation, such as interactive dashboards or simulation models that allow stakeholders to visualize different scenarios and their potential impact on cash flow.
