I don't know if I'm the right person to ask about this, I had been unmedicated for my (then) undiagnosed ADHD up until last year or so. So the only thing that has helped me focus overall, is Adderall. With regular med vacations of course.

This is an excellent tip, especially regarding the personal devices. Often, employees take advantage of the fact that they are working from home and get easily distracted. When these distractions take place, the productivity and efficiency is negatively affected and hurts the consumer, the business AND the employee. A remote position must be looked upon and treated as any other professional setting, and minimizing distractions is an important component in successful remote work!

I Tune out with motivating music. Having an office to myself is a perk but I have the skill of complete focus regardless of the environment (Thank you NYC)

Just as positive affirmations, gratitude lists, daily reflections, meditation and various other routine ways to begin a work day have many beneficial results and positive effects on one's day....implementing such refreshing and resetting moments through out the day lead to happier, healthier and more focused professionals! Just as a good night sleep, healthy eating, and being prepared have high rates of effectiveness, healthy pauses and boosts of brain power & attitude are imperative for balance and mental performance!

First off 30 minutes isn’t a lunch break. An hour is fair and hour and a half is where the recharging occurs. Also not having strict time constraints causes unnecessary stress. More leisure creates a positive work environment. It’s important to change scenery throughout the shift.

Taking detailed notes and use of so many awesome time management and other great tools is helpful in staying on task and accomplishing daily and weekly goals. Keeping a spreadsheet that personally audits/ documents calls and interactions with patients, consumers or others that you interact with each day has proved effective and helpful to me personally. Having names, numbers, problems & resolutions, follow up information and other important details as to what takes place during calls & tasks. This practice can be quite the game changer, helpful in recalling how calls or specifics were handled. With so many tasks and calls, this kind of documentation can help jog your memory & even help provide solutions to future similar issues with ease!

Telecommunications involves a lot of detailed-laser focus. With that being understood, breaks are very important and I consider them to be one of highest priority. My body knows how much focus I handle in one sitting. With audio engineering, the max amount of time suggested is 30 minutes. So, I would treat it the same way. 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off. The act of focusing so much on frequencies can be balanced with exposure to nature, stillness, or yoga, etc. to clear your mind. If I can dedicate all of my focus for 30 minutes there is a lot of work that can be accomplished in that timeframe. If you like the idea of challenging yourself, doing whatever you want as the reward could be the perfect method/game/activity for you.

Always keep in mind that teamwork and effectively communicating with others is key in successful remote positions. Just because you may not be surrounded by office staff or face to face customers, patients, or other clientele remember that disconnect can easily lead to discord. Isolation in a solo work environment can easily lead to depression, disconnection, discontented boredom, dispassionate interactions and so much more negativity. Keep a mirror near by and remind yourself that a smile can actually be heard when you interact with colleagues and clients via telecommunications of all kinds!
