Try them in a real environment. If you love them, you will certainly buy them. Feedback is key before anyone makes a purchase. That's a marketing rule. No need for full-scale Agile deployment initially. Start small, scale, celebrate successes, and share anecdotal evidence to reduce resistance and encourage adoption.

Start with the original source of it all. If you aren't the one who introduced agile into the organization (at this point, I would be surprised if you're the first person to bring it as a new concept), how have other leaders introduced any concepts, what philosophies were they aligned on, or were there any misalignments, and how did they respond to any resistance? Teams feel the pain of leadership misalignment, and oftentimes, that is where skepticism roots; meanwhile, leaders avoid this topic as it requires them to deal with it amongst themselves. Sometimes, interviewing the leadership is a good place to start.

To demonstrate value, you have to talk in the language of the business, leaving aside the terms of agility and focusing on the real benefit. In my experience, it's much more effective to address a problem or business opportunity by adopting some agile practices to demonstrate it, without necessarily trying to sell agility as a solution.

If I tell you that apples are the best fruits, showcasing their nutritional value and health benefits for your body, would you buy it or consider it a sales pitch? Offer the apple to try without going into the details of how good it is; going into too much detail will bore your audience. They just want to test it and they know if they like it or not.

To win over skeptics to Agile, I follow the simple rule of - Show, don't just tell! Start small, deliver quick wins. Share success stories, highlight improved collaboration, and faster deliveries. Showcase tangible results. Transparency is the ally. Demonstrate value in action, and soon they'll be Agile advocates!

Any change does not come about easily and unusually we see lot of resistance for the same, from stakeholders. As far as Agile methods are concerned, my experience says that this resistance comes from the Middle Management in a organization. I call it the Frozen Middle Layer. Reasons for this can be many including Fear of losing position, Job Loss, Fear of change. As a Leader, I would advise the organization to take baby steps and demonstrate the outcome of each step thereby giving confidence to this frozen middle layer, also it is important to provide a safety shield so that folks apprehension about job losses are gone I always say this that in an Agile Way of working results in Role Transformation and not Job Losses.

Many are unfamiliar with PM approaches like predictive or adaptive but understand waterfall and aspects of agile - small teams, iterative development, frequent/incremental value delivery, change tolerance, and client-centricity. To deepen their understanding of agile leadership, I demonstrate within 2-13 weeks the benefits that they'll receive in addition to the agreed-upon product or service: Value Alignment - business goals/priorities, work streams, quick ROI. I love skeptics. I love them because they often show a side of scenarios that have deeply affected them like none other. By prioritizing the way they've experienced an agile method or process that they've not had the same benefits as others have, it showcases empathy and a vested interest in people-centricity. I would often try to replicate scenarios and poor experiences that a skeptic is thinking of, and addressing it head on, with context, discussions, and questions. Maybe someone was exposed to an agile methodology that resulted in absolute failure; If so, let's see how that experience could be replicated, and have inclusive discussions around why it occurred, and explore alternative scenarios where it could be effective, together.

One of our biggest challenges early on as an Agile evangelist was winning over a senior leader. He was a "waterfall" guy through and through, convinced that rigid planning was the only way to ensure success. Whenever we mentioned agile, he'd say, "That sounds chaotic. How can we possibly deliver work without a clear roadmap?"we decided to directly involve him & participate in the sessions for transformation existing projects. To my surprise, His scepticism started to melt away. He actually seemed to enjoy the collaborative nature, specially, center of excellence. Involving him not only addressed his concerns but also leveraged his expertise to strengthen the organization overall approach.
