How can you develop your leadership skills to lead with authenticity and purpose?

To become an authentic and purposeful leader in my view, one must - - be self-aware and comfortable in our own skin. - understand our unique character and shortcomings. - be aligned with our values in order to lead effectively. - Practice self-awareness to become more authentic - lastly, seek feedback with an open mind without any prejudice.

Leadership is the art of becoming expendable. In my opinion, a good leader makes himself/herself essential by developing people who can get the work done without him/her. Once the leader created a new leader (successor), he/she should be assigned to other area to create new leaders, or promoted to create higher level leaders.

I'm really not sure what prompted me years ago, maybe I was just tired of waking up every day thinking about me...yes, what was I going to do today, I can make this happen, I will get this done. The enormous pressure and burden that I felt every day wore on me. So when I one day decided that I would make every day about helping others grow and develop, I found my true passion, and oh by the way, my district of stores started producing amazing result! I had found my passion, what I wanted to do every day. Once that happened, my leadership everyday was pure and authentic, everyone knew that my sole purpose was to help them grow and be successful, and they saw the joy that came from that every day. Find your passion, authenticity will follow.

The path to genuine leadership starts with self-discovery, understanding your strengths, weaknesses, passions and values. This forms the basis for effective leadership by revealing your motivations, communication style, collaboration abilities, and stress management. This self-awareness empowers you to lead authentically. To me authentic leadership embodies honesty trustworthiness, and vulnerability. It involves accepting team members as they are, meeting them where they are, and fostering a growth-oriented environment that thrives on collaboration and innovation, appreciating their unique qualities and viewpoints. Authentic leadership transcends mere titles it's a commitment to continual self-improvement and dedication to uplifting others.

Leadership consist of a number of differently skills that require a person to lead. Being assertive , passive , communicative , strategic , coaching , motivating just to name a few attribute that can make you a better leader. Looking at the bigger picture before making decision which will and can impact your company , its employees and customers.

Throughout my life, I've realized that I have a natural inclination to speak up for myself and others without fear of judgement. It wasn't until much later that I discovered the perfect term for this trait - authenticity. The idea of being true to oneself and genuine in all aspects of life has been a driving force for me ever since then. I finally found my passion in helping others develop their authenticity and discover their unique voice. It's a fulfilling experience to see people grow and become more confident in expressing themselves. I believe that being authentic not only fosters a sense of personal fulfilment but also allows for more meaningful connections with others.

Leadership in Life, is not Position or Chair you get or occupy till someone displaces you (certainly). It's genuinely is about REAL (not REEL) Connections with maximum people you meet & interact during life journey! 🙏😌🌐

Being a truly, authentic leader comes from knowing yourself from the inside out. The place to start, at least in my opinion, is getting to know yourself, and also taking time to get to know your people. I have always seen businesses as living, breathing things that morph and change with the team you have around you. As a leader, there are so many opportunities to meet people where they are, actively listen, and lead from a place of true humility. This form of leading is unfortunately, more rare than it should be and yet when leading this way, I find I learn from my people around me probably more than they learn from me. I grow as a human as well as growing as a leader.

My leadership journey revolves around five fundamental principles. To begin, I've grounded myself in core values: respect, honesty, trustworthiness, and support, which serve as guiding lights for my decisions. A clearly defined vision fuels my career and organizational ambitions. Setting goals that align with these values and concepts allows me to measure my progress effectively. I advocate for passion and focus, not solely for my objectives but also for nurturing my team's potential. I promote growth through constructive feedback and foster a culture of continuous improvement. These principles are the bedrock of my leadership approach, with the ultimate aim of inspiring positive transformations in my career, team, and organization.

Before I started my first step to be a leader, I spent a good time asking myself one question. “What else?”. After I spent the time to understand myself, identify my leadership style, and gained the experience in most parts of my financial career, I felt that it was the time to start not only passing all my experience to my team, but also to coaching them on how to trust themselves to succeed while giving them my feedbacks and support. It’s not enough to know that your team will be able to manage the work without your involvement, but also trust them with their decisions, build up their skills and be confidence of them handle it. That will make them a great leaders for their own teams as well.

There are two ways to understand the people you work with. First, observe their behaviour closely. How they react in stressful situations, how they conduct themselves around stakeholders, and what they say about the people they work with. All these observations would give you hints about who they are as a teammate. Secondly, talk to them. Ask them about their goals, how they want to be supported and what challenges they have faced recently. This gives you direct information about the help they need from you as a leader. With the above two steps, you'd be able to improve your understanding of who they are. Consider how your leadership style matches (or conflicts) with them, and take steps to find a working model that works for all.
