It is very important to check your work. I work with large data and I understand that I have to submit complete and accurate work, so I do everything possible to double check my work before submitting. Make sure all data are correctly entered and calculations correct. Most times, I give a colleague to help check (that's if it is something that is shareable).

Having someone else is critical in making sure the information is correct, not only from an accuracy standpoint, but also from a regulatory standpoint.

Once when working in a hurry, a colleague of mine hit Ctrl+D instead of Ctrl+S. This led to the replication of card numbers. Had there not been the conditional formatting to check for duplicates in the Excel sheet it would have been a huge loss for the company. Also, it is best if you can have a second pair of eyes quickly run the numbers before processing it.

For example: Saying that you do not have any data saved in clear at rest with a DB encription is missleading. With the right admin password any DB encription is voided. And still you are pcidss 4.0 compliant.

It's always beneficial that the processor has the capability to cross reference the data to avoid any unfortunate situations.
