It´s vital for the team to know where the club stands on a general perspective. If it´s a members club that is devoted to its members only, whether it needs to have some consideration to the pay&play golfers, whether its a mix of both... In order to know what the club needs and behave and plan accordingly

Working in a close environment (this being an office right next to the reception desk or not having an office at all) allows for frequent interactions between employees and managers, this makes it more likely that they will interact with one another and will have a closer relationship than if they weren´t going to see one another except for the monthly meetings. Weekly check-ups and all are fine, but there is nothing like the day-to-day interactions.

As with anything else, it comes down to camaraderie. Many of these relationships and rapport building opportunities will arise organically during your team's day to day

I used to work for a club which offered mandatory golf and rules lessons for their employees on a monthly basis, this at the end of the day created a situation where the all perceived a certain level of shame due to their lack of experience, but they went through with it together and that brought them closer

Although I love internal promotion plans, recognition and all, I have also experienced how (in a bad team) that can also hurt the team, since you have an outstanding employee receiving all the recognition while the others got nothing, and they all got demotivated as a result. with regards to internal promotions, although knowledge in the workplace is always a plus, you always need to think that there could be something better. So even though I would state that there is a possibility for internal promotion, I wouldn´t automatically grant it for being a previous employee
