To secure company data on personal devices, implement a BYOD policy with clear security guidelines. Use MDM/EMM to enforce protocols, manage configurations, and remotely wipe data. Encrypt sensitive data with Full Disk or File-Level Encryption to prevent unauthorized access. Require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for access to corporate resources. Use secure communication protocols (e.g., TLS/SSL) for data transmission. Monitor devices for compliance and security risks. Provide ongoing training on phishing prevention and secure device practices.

I prefer employee use the company devices to safeguard the data as it easier to implement the protocols/policies that are needed. Yes, a BYOD policy can be implemented and strict authentication/VPN and other mechanism can be placed as well but don’t feel right for employees to use their own devices as most of the times they don’t want to use their own devices.

Implementation of Secure workplace of the device the , browser isolations works in most of own devices as its get monitored by local IT teams. Also on such devices, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) works well as for all sensitive accounts to add an extra layer of security. Below are few more steps to handle such situation. 1. Establish a comprehensive policy for system requirement, device classification, company sensitivity data etc. 2. Training to the team about the usage ans security policies and compliances 3. If a company would like to offer the possibility to use the own devices of their employees, a boxed enterprise app could be a secure and very feasible solution to be secure and give the employees the freedom to use their preferred mobile devices. That’s at least also my solution of choice ✌️😊
